July 30th, 2016 - Ricky Finishes 2nd in Southern Nationals Series Points Standings

aPicking back up on Thursday night, Weiss headed to Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tennessee) for another round of Southern Nationals Series. Storming to a heat race win in a field of 24 cars, Ricky earned the 2nd-starting spot for the feature. Battling for a $3,500 payday, Ricky Weiss landed a runner-up finish behind Craig Vosbergen with Ryan King, Shanon Buckingham, and Devin Gilpin rounding out the top five.

After Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) got rained out on Friday, Weiss traveled to Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee) for the final stop of the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series. Charging to another heat race victory, Ricky rolled off 3rd for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Slowing on lap 19 because smoke was billowing out of the car, Ricky Weiss was credited with a 15th place finish.

July 24th, 2016 - Weiss Lands Four Top Ten Finishes in Southern Nationals Action
aFollowing the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series to its next stop, Ricky Weiss headed to 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee) on Tuesday night for the $3,500-to-win A-Main. After starting on the front row of his heat, Weiss got slammed into the wall on the very first lap sending him into the pits for repairs. Starting near the tail of the field after earning a provisional into the feature, Ricky worked his way up to a 15th place outing in the 35-lap A-Main.

After a night off, the Southern Nationals Series resumed at Tri-County Racetrack (Brasstown, North Carolina) on Thursday for another $3,500-to-win A-Main. Bringing home a top five finish in the feature, Ricky landed a 3rd place outing behind Shanon Buckingham and Casey Roberts with Devin Gilpin and Kenny Collins rounding out the top five.

For the next stop thirty-one Super Late Models signed in at Swainsboro Raceway (Swainsboro, Georgia). Parking his Derricks Sandblasting #7 Super Late Model in the top five again, Ricky posted a 4th place finish behind Dennis Franklin, Dillon Wood, and Brent Dixon with Craig Vorsbergen trailing them to the checkers. On Saturday night twenty-six cars signed in at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Georgia) for the Rebel Yell. With $5,300 on the line in the feature, Weiss notched an 8th place finish in the 53-lap affair.

Closing out the busy week with the Southern Nationals Series, Ricky stopped at Rome Speedway (Rome, Georgia) on Sunday night. Placing 4th in his heat race, Weiss fell one spot short of top five finish in the feature. Competing in a field of twenty-seven cars in the A-Main, Ricky Weiss registered an 6th place finish.

July 16th, 2016 - Weiss Begins the Southern Nationals Series
Debuting in the 12th Annual Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series presented by Old Man’s Garage, Ricky Weiss visited Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Virginia) on Saturday night. Drawing twenty-six cars for the opening night $10,000-to-win A-Main, Weiss posted a top ten finish in the feature. July 2nd, 2016 - Ricky Weiss Wins at Volunteer Speedway
Running the Ironman Mountain Championship, Ricky Weiss headed to Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee) on Friday night for the Scott Sexton Memorial. Timing in 2nd quick behind Vic Hill, Weiss earned a front-row high-side starting spot for the feature alongside Hill. Inherting the lead after race-leader Vic Hill suffered car troubles, Ricky cruised to his first win of the season and a $3,052 payday. The following night brought Weiss to Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee) for another round of the Ironman Mountain Championship. Competing in a field of sixteen cars, Ricky brought home his second top five finish of the weekend in the feature. With $5,000 on the line, Ricky Weiss scored a 5th place finish behind Chad Ogle, David Payne, Billy Ogle Jr. and Vic Hill.
