January 14, 2018 - Weiss Bags Second Win of Wild West Shootout on Saturday
aWednesday night found Ricky Weiss return to action at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Arizona) for round three of the Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout. After laying down the fastest time overall in his group on his first lap in qualifying, Ricky made hard contact with the wall on his second lap that kept him from competing in his heat race. Rolling off on the tail of his B-Main, Weiss broke a driveshaft before the race began ending his night early.

Competing in a field of 46 cars on Friday night, Weiss followed up the fastest time in his qualifying group with a heat race win. Starting the feature in 3rd, Ricky jumped up one spot in the 30-lapper notching a 2nd place finish behind Mike Marlar with Bobby Pierce, Chris Simpson, and Earl Pearson Jr. completing the Top 5 finishers.

On Saturday night, Weiss locked his spot into the main event with a heat race win. Receiving the pole position for the feature after the redraw, Ricky Weiss led wire-to-wire en route to his second win of the season and a $5,000 payday. Wrapping up the 12th annual Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout on Sunday, Ricky landed a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Brandon Sheppard positioning him 7th on the starting grid for the $13,000-to-win A-Main. Wheeling his way into a podium spot, Weiss gained four spots to place 3rd behind Brandon Sheppard and Mike Marlar with Don Shaw and Cade Dillard trailing them to the line.

January 7, 2018 - Ricky Weiss Opens 2018 Season With Wild West Shootout Victory
Kicking off the 2018 season, Ricky Weiss made the trek to the FK ROD Ends Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Arizona) on Saturday night for the 12th annual Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout. With 50 Super Late Models on hand for the first round of the six-race tour, Weiss followed up the fastest time in his qualifying group with a heat race victory. Earning the pole position for the feature after the redraw, Ricky led the opening 17 laps until surrendering the lead to Chris Simpson. Jumping on the high side late in the race for one final shot at regaining the top spot, Ricky Weiss blasted past Simpson and then streaked to his first win of the season over Simpson, Mike Marlar, Brandon Sheppard, and Garrett Alberson. aReturning on Sunday evening, Weiss timed in second fastest in his group before placing 2nd in his heat race behind Mike Marlar. Rolling off 7th for the feature, Ricky worked his way into a podium spot by the mid-point of the race and was challenging race-leader Bobby Pierce for the lead by lap 21. After making a pass for the lead coming out of turn four on lap 21, Weiss was shoved into the turn-one exit barrier while sliding to the highside to secure the top spot. Able to walk away from the contact uninjured, Weiss was credited with a 23rd place outing.
