On Tuesday night Ricky Weiss followed the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series to ABC Raceway (Ashland, Wisconsin) kicking off the northern swing. Drawing 25 cars for the Red’s Auto Badgerland 50, Weiss secured his spot into the opening night feature with a 10-lap heat race victory. Returning to action on Friday at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota), Ricky landed a runner-up finish in his heat behind Shane Clanton which positioned him 6th on the starting grid for the A-Main. With $10,000 on the line, Weiss improved four spots to place 2nd behind Brandon Sheppard with Dennis Erb Jr., Shane Clanton, and Darrell Lanigan trailing them to the checkers.
The following night at Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota), Weiss followed up the second fastest lap overall in time trials with a heat race victory. Dropping five spots in the 50-lap feature, Ricky logged a 6th place finish.
Wrapping up the four-day stint with the World of Outlaws on Sunday at Red Cedar Speedway (Menomonie, Wisconsin), Ricky locked his spot into the $10,000-to-win finale with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Chase Junghans.
