Ricky Records 15th Place Finish at Knoxville

On Thursday night Ricky Weiss headed to Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores. Drawing a field of 63 Super Late Models for the three-day event, Weiss bagged a runner-up finish in his heat to Earl Pearson Jr. transferring him into the preliminary feature. Earning the pole position starting spot for the $7,000 to win A-Main, Ricky fell back to a 23rd place outing in the 25-lapper.

Returning for the 2nd night of action at Knoxville Raceway, Ricky Weiss was slated to start in the 4th row of his heat after recording the 6th fastest qualifying time in his group. Logging a 6th place outing, Weiss transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the $7,000 to win A-Main. Needing a 6th place finish or better, Weiss edged his way into the main event with a 6th place finish. Gaining four spots in the 25-lap feature, Ricky Weiss retired a 20th place finish.

On the final night of action, Ricky earned a 15th row starting spot for the main event based off his results in the previous two nights. With $40,000 on the line, Ricky Weiss stormed through the field in the 100-lapper gaining 14 spots to record a solid 15th place finish.

Weiss Lands Runner-up Spot at Legendary 100

Returning to action, Ricky Weiss traveled to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) on Friday night for the NASCAR Late Model sanctioned Legendary 100. With the rain pushing all of Friday’s preliminary action to Saturday, Weiss scored a 20-lap qualifying feature win. Capturing a heat race win in a total of 31 Super Late Models, Ricky followed his heat race victory with a dash victory. Competing for a $5,000 payday in the 40-lap A-Main, Ricky Weiss bagged a runner-up finish to Darrell Nelson with Chad Mahder, A.J. Diemel, and Pat Doar rounding out the top five.

Ricky Weiss Attends 45th Annual World 100

On Thursday night Ricky Weiss headed to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for the prestigious three-day 45th Annual World 100. Drawing 106 Super Late Models for the opening night event, Weiss earned a 2nd place starting spot for his heat with the 3rd fastest time in his qualifying group. Landing a 3rd place finish in his heat, Ricky earned a spot for one of the two $5,000 to win features. Battling for 25-laps, Ricky Weiss fell back to a 21st place finish in a veteran field.

With the continuous rain washing away all of Friday’s events and rescheduling them to Saturday morning, Weiss was set to start on the 3rd row for his heat. Capturing an 8-lap heat race win, Ricky earned a 4th place starting spot for the $5,000 to win A-Main. Battling for 25-laps, Ricky Weiss fell back to a 9th place finish.

Later on in the night, Weiss was slated to start on the pole after his promising preliminary results. Coming in contact with the wall on his 2nd lap, Ricky’s night was over after his heat.

Ricky Weiss Wins WISSOTA event at Red River Co-Op

Ricky Weiss made the trip to Red River Co-Op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) on Thursday night for the WISSOTA sanctioned event. With 12 Super Late Models signed in, Weiss gained five spots in his heat cruising to a victory. Advancing seven spots in the feature, Ricky came from his 8th place starting spot to win the event. On Friday night Ricky headed to I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) to a field of 21 Super Late Models. After tearing the deck off in a heat race wreck, Weiss decided to take the rest of the night off and prepare for the rest of the weekend.

The following night Weiss visited Viking Speedway (Alexandria, Minnesota) on Saturday night for the two-day show. With the rain arriving early in the night on Saturday, it was determined both programs would be held on Sunday. Improving five spots in his heat, Weiss bagged a 2nd place finish. With a 5th place starting spot in the first feature, Weiss advanced two spots retiring a podium finish behind Don Shaw and Cody Skytland with Jeff Wildung and Dustin Strand completing the top five.

In the second feature of the night, Ricky scored a heat race win from the 5th place starting position. After leading the entire feature, Weiss got passed up in lap traffic late in the event registering another 3rd place outing behind Brad Seng and Dustin Strand with Jeff Wildung, and Cole Schill rounding out the top five.

On Thursday night Ricky Weiss headed to Red River Co-Op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) powering his Derrick’s Sandblasting #7 Bloomquist/Pro Power Racing Super Late Model. Drawing 12 cars for the WISSOTA sanctioned event, Weiss charged from his 6th place starting spot in his heat to capture the victory. The next night brought Ricky to I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) to a field of 15 Super Late Models. Improving three spots in his heat, Weiss scored a runner-up finish transferring him into the feature. Coming from 7th, Ricky bagged his 21st victory of the season with Cody Skytland, Cole Scholl, Chad Willamson, and Dusty Peterson trailing him to the finish line.

Wrapping up the busy weekend, Weiss traveled to Devil’s Lake Speedway (Lakota, North Dakota) for the Northern Late Model Racing Association event. In a field of 14 cars, Ricky captured a heat race win setting him up for the feature. Battling with Dustin Strand for the lead, Ricky Weiss scored a runner-up finish to Strand with Brad Seng, Bill Mooney, and Dusty Peterson rounding out the top five.

Ricky Weiss returned to Red River Co-Op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) on Thursday night competing in the Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA) event. With 21 cars signed in for the Can-Am Challenge, Weiss bagged a podium finish in the feature. Battling for a $1,100 payday, Ricky scored a runner-up spot to Mike Balcaen with Dustin Strand, Cole Schill, and Brad Seng rounding out the top five.

On Friday night Ricky traveled to River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota) for another round of action in the NLRA Series. With $1,100 on the line in the feature, Weiss landed another 2nd place outing in the feature behind Billy Mooney with Mike Balcaen, Donny Schatz, and Joey Pederson completing the top five.

On Thursday night Ricky Weiss headed to Red River Co-Op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) competing in the Super Late Model division. Starting in 7th for his heat race, Weiss charged to the front setting him up for the feature event. Bringing home his 19th victory of the season, Ricky cruised to the A-Main win.

The following night brought Ricky to River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota) powering his Turk Enterprises #7 Bloomquist/Pro Power Racing Super Late Model. Earning a heat race victory, Weiss transferred into the feature with an 8th place starting spot. Battling for the lead, Ricky Weiss advanced six spots scoring a 2nd place outing.

The 8th starting Weiss charged through the field winning his 18th victory of the season with Dustin Strand, Brad Seng, Joey Pederson, and Steve Anderson completing the top five.

Weiss Continues on Red Hot 2015 Season with Win at Red River

On Monday night Ricky headed to Red River Co-Op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) to a smaller field of 11 Super Late Models. Improving one spot in his heat from 3rd to 2nd, Weiss trailed Kevin Sexton to the finish like transferring him into the feature event. Going for his 16th win of the season, Ricky charged from the 4th place position capturing his 6th win in the month of May. Winning three times in in his past three appearances at Red River Co-Op Speedway, Weiss defeated Billy Mooney, Kevin Sexton, Paul Veert and Mike Martin in the feature event.

Thursday night brought Weiss to Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minnesota) for the Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA) Event. With 20 Super Late Models signed in, Ricky scored a heat race win setting him up with 2nd place starting spot for the feature. Racing for a $1,100 payday, Ricky Weiss scored a 3rd place finish behind Don Shaw and Cody Skytland with Donny Schatz and Mike Balcaen competing the top five.

The following night brought Weiss to I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) for the double feature event. Competing in the first event of the night, a make-up feature from previous rained out show, Ricky went on to capture his 17th victory of the season. For the second show, Weiss scored a runner-up finish in his heat transferring him into the feature with a 9th place starting spot. Looking for a two-win evening, Ricky improved six spots retiring a 3rd place finish behind Cole Schill and Mike Balcaen with Kevin Robertson and Brady Johanneck rounding out the top five.

Wrapping up the busy weekend, Ricky traveled to Jamestown Speedway (Jamestown, North Dakota) for another NLRA Event. Competing for another $1,100 paycheck, Weiss captured a heat race win setting him up for the A-Main. Ricky went on to place 4th in the feature behind Dustin Strand, Brad Seng, and Cole Schill with Shane Edginton coming in 5th.

Ricky Weiss Captures Fifth NLRA Win of the Season

Ricky Weiss returned on the 2015 season by making the trip to Brown County Speedway (Aberdeen, South Dakota) powering his Derrick’s Sandblasting #7 Bloomquist/Pro Power Racing Super Late Model. Competing in another OneMain WISSOTA Challenge Series event, Weiss was one of 31 entries that looked to bring home a $2,000 payday. Battling in a field of 24 cars, Ricky finished ahead of all competitors by a straightway to find out after the race was completed that he was disqualified. It was determined Ricky Weiss incorrectly placed his transponder taking away his 15th victory of the season.

Saturday night brought Ricky to Greenbush Race Park (Greenbush, Minnesota) to compete in a Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA) event. Laying down the quick time in a field of 24 Super Late Models, Weiss went on to bag a heat race victory. Starting on the pole for the $1,100 to win feature, Weiss scored his fifth NLRA win of the season. Bringing his tally to 15 wins on the season, Weiss ousted Brad Seng, Dustin Strand, Mike Balcaen, and Bill Mooney.
