Ricky Weiss Returns to Action at Smoky Mountain

Piloting Vic Hill’s #1 Super Late Model, Ricky Weiss returned to action on Saturday night traveling to Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series (WoO) sanctioned event. In a stacked field of forty-five Super Late Models, Weiss posted the fourth fastest time in his group of twenty-two cars. Scoring a 3rd place finish in his heat, Ricky secured his spot into the Mountain Outlaw 50 A-Main. Starting in 12th, Ricky Weiss fell one spot in to the 50-lap affair recording a 13th place finish.

Ricky Lands Top 5 Spot in Deep Fried 75 at Duck River

Returning with the Southern Nationals Bonus Series, Ricky Weiss headed to Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee) on Friday night for the two-day Deep Fried 75. Drawing 35 Super Late Models, Weiss followed up the 7th fastest time in his qualifying group with a 3rd place finish in his heat locking his spot into the main event on Saturday night. Competing in the Tennessee State Championships, Ricky Weiss traveled to Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tennessee) on Friday for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series sanctioned weekend. Following the 6th fastest time overall in his group, Ricky secured his spot into the main event on Saturday night with a 3rd place finish in his heat. Weiss Wins at Red River Co-op Speedway

Behind the wheel of the Derrick’s Sandblasting #7W Super Late Model, Ricky Weiss made the short trip to Red River Co-op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) on Friday for the two-day Prairie Classic. Starting on the pole of his heat, Weiss cruised to heat race win giving him the 5th-starting spot for the main event. Running into mechanical issues, Ricky was an early retiree from the A-Main.

Ricky Weiss Places 2nd at Red River Co-op Speedway

On Friday night Ricky Weiss returned to his home-track of Red River Co-op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) for the WISSOTA Late Model sanctioned evening. In a field of 12 cars, Weiss started the night off with a heat race win from the 3rd-starting position earning him the 7th-starting spot for the feature. After working his way into the lead early in the event, Dustin Strand slipped past Ricky after a mid-race caution. Bringing home a podium finish, Ricky Weiss notched a runner-up finish behind Strand with Mike Martin, Bill Mooney, and Kevin Sexton rounding out the Top 5.

Weiss Competes in 13th Annual Knoxville Nationals

Running in the 13th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores, Ricky Weiss traveled to Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) on Thursday for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned weekend. With 69 cars signed in, Weiss logged a 7th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 6 into the opening night A-Main, Ricky fell two positions short with a 6th place outing.

Returning on Friday, Weiss recorded an 8th place outing in his heat sending him into the C-Main. Sending the Top 4 into the B-Main, Ricky scored a 3rd place finishing giving him one last chance with a B-Main appearance. Wrapping up the Lucas Oil Late Model Nationals on Saturday, Weiss rolled off 12th in his B-Main for his last shot at the $40,000-to-win main event. Battling for 6th place spot or better, Ricky logged a 9th place finish.

Ricky Begins World 100 With Top 10 Finish

Battling in the 46th Annual World 100, Ricky Weiss returned to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday for the opening night $10,000-to-win A-Main. After timing in 15th fastest overall out of a stacked field of 108 cars, Weiss charged to a heat race win putting him 8th on the starting rundown for the feature. Moving up one spot in the 25-lapper, Ricky landed a 7th place finish.

On Saturday with another 3rd-starting position for his heat already secured, Weiss needed a 3rd place finish or better to make the World 100. Falling back to a 8th place finish in his heat, Ricky had one last shot at the $49,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 5 into the show, Ricky Weiss fell back to a 8th place outing.

Preparing for the famed World 100, Ricky Weiss made the trip to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Sunday night for the 9th Annual Baltes Classic. After timing in 13th overall, Weiss landed a 3rd place finish in his heat earning him the 11th-starting spot for the feature. Battling for a $3,000 payday in the Sunoco American Late Model Series sanctioned A-Main, Ricky improve one position registering a 10th place outing.

Weiss Visits Volunteer for Scorcher; Preparing for World

Running with the Ultimate Super Late Model Series, Ricky Weiss made the trip to Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee) on Thursday night for the $12,000-to-win top prize. Drawing 23 cars for the Scorcher A-Main, Weiss followed up the fastest time in his group with a runner-up finish in his heat behind Dale McDowell. Bringing out a caution on lap 33 of the feature, Ricky fell back to a 14th place outing in the 50-lap A-Main.
