Podium Finish for Ricky Weiss at Smoky Mountain Speedway

Behind the wheel of the A.I.E. Communications #7 Super Late Model, Ricky Weiss traveled to Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) on Saturday night for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series sanctioned program. In a field of 30 Super Late Models, Weiss posted the 3rd fastest time in qualifying locking his spot into the $5,000-to-win Food City 40 A-Main. Breaking into the Top 5, Ricky notched a 3rd place finish behind Chris Madden and Donald McIntosh with Billy Ogle Jr. and Derek Ellis trailing them across the finish line. (Michael Moats Photo)

Weiss Visits Volunteer for Scorcher; Preparing for World

Running with the Ultimate Super Late Model Series, Ricky Weiss made the trip to Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee) on Thursday night for the $12,000-to-win top prize. Drawing 23 cars for the Scorcher A-Main, Weiss followed up the fastest time in his group with a runner-up finish in his heat behind Dale McDowell. Bringing out a caution on lap 33 of the feature, Ricky fell back to a 14th place outing in the 50-lap A-Main.

Ricky Weiss Makes Both Shows at Florence Speedway

Competing in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned program, Ricky Weiss headed to Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky) on Thursday night for the rescheduled Ralph Latham Memorial. In a stout field of 65 Super Late Models, Weiss slipped into 3rd on the very last lap of his heat giving him the final transfer spot into the $30,000-to-win A-Main. Starting in 14th, Ricky moved up four spots in the 100-lapper posting a solid 10th place finish.

The following night competing in two rounds of heat action, Ricky placed 3rd in his first race while falling back to a 6th place outing in his second event. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the Sunoco North/South 100 on Saturday night, Weiss grabbed the last transfer spot in the consolation event with a runner-up finish behind Tim Dohm. Starting in 21st for the $50,000-to-win A-Main, Ricky Weiss logged a 24th place finish in the 100-lap affair.
