Ricky Finishes 2nd in Southern Nationals Series Points Standings
On Tuesday night the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series picked back up at Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia) with a stacked field of 35 competitors signed in for the seventh stop of the series. Picking back up on Thursday night, Weiss headed to Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tennessee) for another round of Southern Nationals Series. Storming to a heat race win in a field of 24 cars, Ricky earned the 2nd-starting spot for the feature. Battling for a $3,500 payday, Ricky Weiss landed a runner-up finish behind Craig Vosbergen with Ryan King, Shanon Buckingham, and Devin Gilpin rounding out the top five.
After Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) got rained out on Friday, Weiss traveled to Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee) for the final stop of the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series. Charging to another heat race victory, Ricky rolled off 3rd for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Slowing on lap 19 because smoke was billowing out of the car, Ricky Weiss was credited with a 15th place finish.
