Three Top 5 Finishes Over Fourth of July Weekend

On Thursday night Ricky Weiss returned to Red River Co-op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) for the Canada Day Celebration special. In a field of 12 Super Late Models, Weiss jumped up three spots in his heat to place 2nd behind Mike Balcaen. Starting in 8th for the A-Main, Ricky streaked through the field six spots notching a runner-up finish behind Bill Mooney with Dustin Strand, Rick Fawcett, and Mike Balcaen completing the Top 5 finishers.

The following night Ricky visited River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota) for a pair of Northern Late Model Racing Association sanctioned features. Cruising to an 8-lap heat race win from the pole position, Ricky earned the 4th-starting spot for the $1,100-to-win A-Main. Holding his position for all 20-laps, Weiss posted a 4th place finish behind Dustin Strand, Donny Schatz, and Bill Mooney with Mike Balcaen coming in 5th.

Later Friday night for the rescheduled NLRA feature from June 16th, Weiss rolled off 5th for a chance at the $1,100 payday. Working his way into a podium spot, Ricky gained two positions to place 3rd behind Dustin Strand and Donny Schatz with Brad Seng and Bill Mooney rounding out the Top 5.

Weiss Visits Victory Lane in Fall Classic at Viking Speedway

Powering the Derrick’s Sandblasting #7 Super Late Model, Ricky Weiss traveled to Viking Speedway (Alexandria, Minnesota) on Friday for the two-day Viking Fall Classic. Drawing 30 cars for the WISSOTA sanctioned weekend, Ricky locked his spot into the opening night feature with a heat race victory. Battling with Don Shaw for the lead, Weiss came up short at the line to place 2nd behind Shaw with Pat Doar, John Kaanta, and Lance Matthees rounding out the Top 5.

Returning on Saturday for another $3,000-to-win A-Main, Weiss landed a 3rd place finish in his heat race positioning him 8th on the starting grid for the feature. Overtaking Pat Doar in the closing laps, Ricky Weiss streaked to his fifteenth win of the season over Jeff Wildung, Don Shaw, Pat Doar, and Lance Matthees.

Ricky Weiss Sweeps Prairie Classic at Red River Co-op

On Friday Ricky Weiss headed to Red River Co-op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) for the two-day Prairie Classic. With 22 Super Late Models on hand for the unsanctioned weekend, Weiss started the night off with a heat race victory from the 5th-starting position. Rolling off on the pole for the opening night feature, Ricky outran the 21-car field to capture his thirteenth win of the season. Dustin Strand, Jim Harris, Bill Mooney, and Brad Seng completed the Top 5 finishers in the 20-lap affair.

Weiss Bags Four Top 5 Finishes During WISSOTA 100 Weekend

Wednesday night found Ricky Weiss in action at Dakota State Fair Speedway (Huron, South Dakota) for the WISSOTA 100 weekend. In a field of 29 Super Late Models, Ricky passed seven cars in his heat to capture a heat race victory. Rolling off 5th for the opening night feature, Weiss improved two more spots posting a 3rd place finish behind Lance Matthees and Scott Ward with Kent Arment and Eric Mass completing the Top 5 finishers.

The following night starting 8th in his heat race, Weiss landed a 2nd place finish behind Chad Olsen positioning him 6th on the starting grid for the feature. Breaking into the Top 5, Ricky gained two positions in the 15-lapper recording a 4th place finish behind Jeff Provinzino, Chad Olsen, and Jeff Wildung with Chad Becker coming in 5th.

For the third night of action in the WISSOTA 100, Ricky secured his spot into the A-Main with a heat race win from the 6th-starting position. Starting in 4th for the 15-lap feature, Weiss jumped up two spots to place 2nd behind Chad Becker with David McDonald, Ryan Mikkelson, and Jordan Heiman rounding out the Top 5.

Wrapping up the WISSOTA 100 on Saturday, Ricky had already locked his spot into the $10,000-to-win finale with his performances the previous three nights. Podium Finish in John Seitz Memorial

Returning on Friday night for the two-day John Seitz Memorial, Ricky passed four cars in his heat logging a 3rd place finish. Transferring into the Dash, Weiss reeled in a 2nd place finish behind A.J. Diemel locking him into the 2nd-starting position for the $9,200-to-win A-Main on Saturday evening. Three-Win Weekend for Ricky Weiss

On Thursday evening Ricky Weiss kicked off the action-packed Labor Day weekend at Red River Co-op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) for the Race of Champions Qualifier. Saturday night brought Weiss to Viking Speedway (Alexandria, Minnesota) for the Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA) sanctioned Labor Day Doubleheader. Starting the night off with a heat race victory, Ricky earned the pole position for the A-Main. Back with the Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA), Ricky Weiss was one of 23 Super Late Models on hand at Red River Valley Speedway (West Fargo, North Dakota) on Wednesday for the Car Show Cruise Night. The following night brought Weiss to Red River Co-op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) for the unsanctioned event. Rolling off on the pole of his heat race, Ricky cruised to an 8-lap heat race win positioning him 8th on the starting grid for the A-Main. Wheeling his way into a podium spot, Ricky Weiss gained six spots in the 25-lapper to place 2nd behind Don Shaw with Shane Edginton, Mike Balcaen, and Kevin Sexton rounding out the Top 5. 

On Saturday night with 18 WISSOTA Late Models signed in at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota), Weiss posted a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Zach Naastad locking his spot into the A-Main. Running into mechanical trouble early, Ricky Weiss an early retiree from the 20-lapper on lap 7.

Kicking off the Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA) sanctioned weekend, Ricky Weiss visited Red River Co-op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) on Thursday night for the Can-Am Late Model Challenge. Moving up three spots in his heat race, Weiss landed a 3rd place finish locking him into the 8th-starting position for the feature. Bringing home a podium spot, Ricky passed five cars in the 25-lapper to place 3rd behind Donny Schatz and Cole Schill with Shane Edginton and Brad Seng completing the Top 5 finishers.

On Friday night with 26 NLRA entries on hand at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota), Weiss secured his spot into the $1,200-to-win A-Main with a heat race victory. Wrapping up the three-day NLRA weekend on Saturday, Weiss stopped at Devils Lake Speedway (Doyon, North Dakota) for the $1,200 top prize. Following an 8-lap heat race win, Ricky held his spot for all 25-laps in the feature scoring a 2nd place finish behind Brad Seng. Billy Mooney, Cole Schill, and Matthew Smith trailed them across the finish line.

Ricky Weiss Wins in Modified at Red River Co-op Speedway

Weiss Wins in NASCAR Late Model at Cedar Lake Speedway

Thursday night found Ricky Weiss back with the Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA) at Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minnesota) for Thursday Night Thunder. Holding his spot in his heat, Weiss coasted to a heat race win positioning him 3rd on the starting grid for the feature. After overtaking the lead on the second lap, Weiss held off Sprint Car standout Donny Schatz in the closing laps to pick up his fourth straight win and eighth overall on the season. Pocketing a $1,100 payday, Ricky topped Schatz, Ryan Mikkelson, Brad Seng, and Don Shaw at the finish line.

Friday night brought Weiss to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned weekend. Drawing 42 Super Late Models for the 30th annual USA Nationals, Ricky secured his spot into the $6,000-to-win opening night feature with a 4th place finish in his heat race. Rolling off 16th, Weiss gained five spots in the 30-lapper to place 11th.

Later Friday evening, Weiss posted a 6th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main on Saturday night. Needing to place in the Top 3 to make the $50,000-to-win finale, Ricky fell short with a 5th place outing sending him into the Last Chance Qualifier for one final shot at the main event. Sending only the race winner into the 100-lapper, Ricky Weiss logged a 6th place finish ending his night.

In the NASCAR Late Model division, Ricky wheeled his way from the 4th-starting position to pick up his ninth win of the season over Darrell Nelson, Jake Redetzke, Nick Anvelink, and AJ Diemel.

On Sunday night Weiss stopped at Sheyenne River Speedway (Lisbon, North Dakota) returning with the Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA). With 28 Super Late Models signed in, Ricky passed five cars in his heat race to place 2nd behind Brad Seng. Rolling off 6th for the $1,200-to-win A-Main, Ricky Weis jumped up two positions posting a 4th place finish behind Don Shaw, Brad Seng, and Dustin Strand with Donny Schatz coming in 5th.
