Four Top 10 Finishes Over Memorial Day Weekend
Ricky Weiss opened the action-packed Memorial Day Weekend on Friday night at Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia) for the Schaeffer Oil Spring Nationals sanctioned opener. Leading the night off with a 10-lap heat race win, Weiss locked his spot into the $4,000-to-win A-Main. Bringing home a Top 5 finish, Ricky posted a 4th place outing behind Brandon Overton, Donald McIntosh, and Shanon Buckingham with David Payne coming in 5th.
Following the Spring Nationals Series on Saturday night, Ricky was one of 41 Super Late Models signed in at Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia) for the $5,000 top prize. Edging his way into the feature, Weiss grabbed the 4th and final transfer spot in his heat race locking him into the 17th-starting position. Working his way into the Top 10, Ricky advanced seven spots in the 50-lapper reeling in a 10th place finish.
Sunday night brought Weiss to Rome Speedway (Rome, Georgia) for the Schaeffer Oil Spring Nationals season finale. In a field of 21 Super Late Models, Ricky started the night off with a heat race win securing his spot into the $6,000-to-win A-Main. Grabbing his second Top 5 finish of the weekend, Ricky Weiss posted a 4th place spot behind Dale McDowell, Brandon Overton, and Donald McIntosh with Derek Ellis completing the Top 5 finishers. Wrapping up the four-day stint on Monday, Weiss headed to Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee) for the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series sanctioned program. Following the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group, Ricky Weiss slipped up two positions in the Freedom Isn’t Free 50 A-Main registering an 8th place finish.
