Ricky Weiss was one 25 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries on hand at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) on Wednesday night for the $10,000 top prize. Recording a 4th place finish in his heat race, Weiss earned the 11th-starting position for the opening night feature. Coming one spot shy of a Top-5 finish, Ricky jumped up five positions to place 6th.
Friday night brought 72 World of Outlaws competitors to Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois) kicking off the 30th annual Prairie Dirt Classic. Timing in eighth fastest in his group, Ricky locked into the 4th-starting position for his $2,500-to-win preliminary feature. Jumping up one spot in the 25-lap affair, Weiss posted a 3rd place finish behind Shane Clanton and Billy Drake with Kent Robinson and Ashton Winger rounding out the Top-5. (Todd Healy photo)
On Saturday night with his spot already locked into the $30,000-to-win Prairie Dirt Classic, Ricky Weiss passed eight cars in the 100-lapper reeling in a 4th place finish behind Brandon Sheppard, Mike Marlar, and Bobby Pierce with Gordy Gundaker coming in 5th.
