Top 5 Finish in Thaw Brawl at La Salle Speedway

After Mother Nature postponed Friday’s event to another date and eventually shifted Saturday’s finale to Sunday afternoon, Ricky Weiss was one of 31 American Ethanol Late Model Tour series entries signed in at La Salle Speedway (LaSalle, Illinois) for the eighth annual Hoker Trucking Thaw Brawl. Failing to lock his spot into the show with a 6th place finish in his heat, Ricky went on to pick up a consolation victory positioning him 16th on the starting grid for the $15,000-to-win main event. Breaking into the Top-5, Weiss gained 11 spots in the 75-lapper to place 5th behind Tyler Erb, Bobby Pierce, Chris Simpson, and Dennis Erb Jr. (Mike Ruefer photo)
