Weiss Scores a Trio of Top-5 Finishes With Spring Nationals

Ricky Weiss kicked off the Memorial Day weekend on Saturday evening at Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia) competing in a field of 28 Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals Series entries. Recording the fifth fastest time in his qualifying group, Ricky earned the 9th-starting position for the opening night feature. Breaking into the Top-5, Weiss improved five spots to place 4th behind Michael Page, Dale McDowell, and Casey Roberts with Austin Smith coming in 5th.

The following night at Rome Speedway (Rome, Georgia) for the $5,000 top prize, Weiss laid down the fastest lap overall in time trials positioning him 2nd on the starting grid for the A-Main. Wrapping up the three-day stretch with the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals Series, Weiss stopped at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee) on Sunday for the Scott Sexton Memorial. Coming in 2nd in his heat behind Ross Bailes, Ricky earned the 7th-starting position for the A-Main. Passing four cars in the 52-lap affair, Ricky Weiss reeled in a 3rd place spot behind Jimmy Owens and Brandon Overton with Hudson O’Neal and Kyle Strickler rounding out the Top-5.

Runner-up Finish in WoO Stop at Wayne County

After weather ruined Friday’s opener at Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville, Ohio), Ricky Weiss followed the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series to Wayne County Speedway (Orrville, Ohio) on Saturday. In a field of 31 cars, Weiss jumped up two spots in his heat to place 2nd behind Darrell Lanigan. Starting the $10,000-to-win A-Main in 4th, Ricky passed two cars in the 50-lapper reeling in a runner-up finish behind Brandon Sheppard with Darrell Lanigan, Dennis Erb Jr., and Doug Drown completing the Top-5 finishers. (Al Hutchison Jr. photo)

12th Place Finish With World of Outlaws at Cherokee

Friday night saw the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series return to action at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, South Carolina) for the $10,000 top prize. In a field of 37 cars, Ricky Weiss recorded the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group before placing 3rd in his heat.
