Weiss Scores a Trio of Top-5 Finishes With Spring Nationals
Ricky Weiss kicked off the Memorial Day weekend on Saturday evening at Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia) competing in a field of 28 Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals Series entries. Recording the fifth fastest time in his qualifying group, Ricky earned the 9th-starting position for the opening night feature. Breaking into the Top-5, Weiss improved five spots to place 4th behind Michael Page, Dale McDowell, and Casey Roberts with Austin Smith coming in 5th.
The following night at Rome Speedway (Rome, Georgia) for the $5,000 top prize, Weiss laid down the fastest lap overall in time trials positioning him 2nd on the starting grid for the A-Main. Wrapping up the three-day stretch with the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals Series, Weiss stopped at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee) on Sunday for the Scott Sexton Memorial. Coming in 2nd in his heat behind Ross Bailes, Ricky earned the 7th-starting position for the A-Main. Passing four cars in the 52-lap affair, Ricky Weiss reeled in a 3rd place spot behind Jimmy Owens and Brandon Overton with Hudson O’Neal and Kyle Strickler rounding out the Top-5.
