Weiss Tallies Seven-Win 2019 Season, Finishes 3rd in World of Outlaw Point Standings

The 2019 season saw Ricky Weiss travel to a total of 76 events behind the wheel of the Derrick’s Sandblasting No. 7 Kakela Farms/ J&C Properties/ Sweet-Bloomquist Race Car/ Vic Hill Race Engine Super Late Model entry. Losing 12 of his scheduled dates to Mother Nature, Weiss recorded seven wins, 38 Top-5 finishes, and 58 Top-10 outings.

He will look to kick off the 2020 season in mid-January at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Ariz.) for the 14th annual Wild West Shootout.

World Finals Cap Off World of Outlaws Season, Weiss Finishes 3rd in Point Standings

Wrapping up the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series season, Ricky Weiss invaded the Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, North Carolina) on Thursday evening for the Can-Am World Finals. Drawing 69 cars for the rain-shortened qualifying session, Weiss recorded the 15th fastest time in his group before coming in ninth fastest on his second lap.

Coming two spots shy of a transfer position in his heat on Friday with a 5th place finish, Ricky went on to pick up a 10-lap consolation victory which positioned him 20th on the starting grid for the A-Main. With $12,000 on the line, Weiss passed six cars in the 50-lapper to place 14th.

On Saturday afternoon starting in third in his heat, Weiss streaked to an 8-lap heat race victory locking his spot into the $12,000-to-win finale. Rolling off sixth, Ricky broke into a podium spot early and overtook Jonathan Davenport for second on lap 33. Unable to close in on Jimmy Owens, Ricky Weiss notched a runner-up spot behind Owens with Dale McDowell, Mike Marlar, and Chris Madden rounding out the Top-5. (Brent Smith photo)

With his finish on Saturday night, Ricky Weiss finished third in the final World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series point standings.
