Weiss scores third place finish in Billy Vacek Memorial at Lincoln Speedway

Headed east with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series, Ricky Weiss traveled to Lincoln Speedway (Abbottstown, Pa.) on Thursday evening for the Billy Vacek and Huey Wilcoxon Memorial. Following the seventh fastest time in his qualifying group, Weiss charged forward three spots in his heat race to pick up the 10-lap victory. Starting the $12,000-to-win A-Main in third, Ricky held his spot for all 50 laps to register a third place finish behind Brandon Sheppard and Rick Eckert with Cade Dillard and Chase Junghans completing the Top-5 finishers. On Friday afternoon at Williams Grove Speedway (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) for the $10,000 top prize, Ricky laid down the second fastest lap in his time trial before coming in second in his heat behind Cade Dillard. Earning the eighth-starting position for the A-Main, Weiss suffered a flat left-rear tire on lap 34 that dropped him back to a 17th place outing.

For the weekend finale on Saturday evening at Eriez Speedway (Eerie, Pa.), Weiss fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fifth place finish. Streaking to a 10-lap consolation victory, Ricky earned the 18th-starting position for the A-Main. Passing 10 cars in the 50-lap affair, Ricky Weiss reeled in an eighth place finish.

Ricky remains in second in the latest World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series point standings.
