Top 5 finish in Silver Dollar Nationals at I-80

Ricky Weiss made the trek to I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Neb.) on Thursday afternoon to kick off the Imperial Tile Silver Dollar Nationals weekend with the Dirt Track Bank Go 50. Drawing 46 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Weiss timed in sixth fastest in his group before placing second in his heat behind Jonathan Davenport. Starting the $12,000-to-win A-Main in eighth, Ricky marched forward four spots in the 50-lapper to register a fourth place finish behind Jimmy Owens, Ricky Thornton Jr., and Brandon Sheppard with Josh Richards coming in fifth. On Friday afternoon for a pair of heat races, Weiss jumped up two spots in his first round to place sixth. Rolling off second round two, Ricky streaked to a 10-lap heat race victory, which positioned him 14th in total passing points.

Earning the 14th-starting position for the $53,000-to-win Imperial Tile Silver Dollar Nationals, Ricky advanced through the field nine spots to register a fifth place finish behind Brandon Sheppard, Ricky Thornton Jr., Chad Simpson, and Tim McCreadie.
