Weiss Lands Runner-up finish in Tennessee Tipoff at SMS

Ricky Weiss followed the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series to Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee) on Friday evening for the pair of events in the Volunteer State. In a field of 33 cars, Ricky secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win opening night feature with a third-place finish in his heat. On Saturday evening at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) for the Tennessee Tipoff, Weiss laid down the seventh fastest lap in his time trial group before placing second in his heat behind Brandon Sheppard. With $12,000 on the line in the feature, Weiss improved six spots to register a runner-up finish behind Mike Marlar with Josh Richards, Brandon Sheppard, and Donald McIntosh completing the Top-5 finishers.

Ricky has climbed to second in the latest World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series point standings.
