Ricky Weiss notches seventh-place finish in World 100 prelim

Ricky Weiss made the trek to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Wednesday afternoon to compete in preliminary action for the 51st annual World 100. With the stout field of 80 cars divided into two groups, Weiss ran into issues in his time trial session but rebounded to score a third-place finish in his heat. On Thursday afternoon, Ricky came in fourth in his heat race before retiring early from his B-Main after tagging the turn two wall.

For another round of preliminary features on Friday as the 50th annual World 100 kicked off, Weiss followed up the 14th fastest qualifying time in his group with a heat race win. With $10,000 on the line, Ricky recorded a seventh-place finish in the 25-lapper.

Rolling off on the front row of his heat race on Saturday evening, Ricky scored a second-place finish, which positioned him 11th on the starting grid for the $53,000-to-win World 100. Pulling off early in the 100-lap affair, Weiss retired on the 45th circuit.
