Top-5 finish with World of Outlaws at Red Cedar

Remaining on a northern swing with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series, Ricky Weiss visited Gondik Law Speedway (Superior, Wis.) on Tuesday afternoon for the $10,000 prize. In a field of 16 cars, Ricky clocked in sixth fastest in his group before placing third in his heat. Locked into the ninth-starting position for the main event, Weiss held his spot for all 40 laps to finish ninth. (Jacy Norgaard photo)

After a few scheduled off days, the World of Outlaws picked back up on Friday afternoon at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, N.D.) for another $10,000-to-win A-Main. With a runner-up finish in his heat race placing him eighth on the starting grid for the feature, Weiss dropped one spot to record a ninth-place outing.

I-94 Sure Step Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minn.) was the site of the Saturday’s World of Outlaws event, and Ricky would secure his spot into the show with a second-place finish in his heat. With $10,000 on the line, Weiss lost two positions in the 40-lap affair to place eighth.

To bring the busy week to a close on Sunday, Weiss was one of 34 cars entered at Red Cedar Speedway (Menomonie, Wis.). Following the second fastest time in his group, Ricky dashed to a 10-lap heat race victory over Brent Larson. With the redraw positioning him on the pole, Weiss led the first seven circuits until Brandon Sheppard stole the top spot. He went on to place fifth in the 40-lapper, trailing Sheppard, Cade Dillard, Chris, Madden, and Jimmy Mars to the checkers.

Ricky is currently fourth in the latest World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series point standings.
