Podium finish in second round of Bristol Dirt Nationals

Ricky Weiss was one of 37 Super Late Models entered at the famed Bristol Motor Speedway (Bristol, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon as the XR Super Series opened the 2022 season with the Bristol Dirt Nationals. After his 15.179-second lap in time trials earned him the fast time honors, Weiss dashed to an eight-lap heat race win. Rolling off second for the $50,000-to-win A-Main, Ricky faded four spots in the 50-lapper to finish sixth. (Michael Moats photo)

For another $50,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday, Ricky topped the speed charts again in time trials before picking up a heat victory. Starting on the pole for the main event, Weiss paced the field for eight laps until a charging Chris Ferguson snuck by. He went on to place third in the 50-lap affair, trailing Ferguson and Scott Bloomquist to the checkers.
