With a ninth-place finish in his heat race pinning him on the ninth row for his $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Weiss gained four spots in the 30-lapper to place 14th.

On Saturday, Ricky edged his way into the $50,000-to-win Mountain Moonshine Classic with the fourth-and-final transfer position in his heat. Starting in 15th, Weiss passed five cars in the 60-lap affair to register a 10th-place finish.
