Drawing 42 cars for the Kokomo Dirt Nationals opener, Ricky timed in second-fastest in his group before placing second in his heat. With $20,000 on the line in the feature, Weiss gained four spots in the 40-lapper to register a seventh-place finish.

For Tuesday’s $40,000-to-win finale, Weiss was forced to take a provisional into the main event after missing a transfer spot by one car in his B-Main. Starting in 23rd, Ricky was an early retiree from the 60-lap affair on the 10th circuit.
