Pair of Top-10 finishes in Peach State Classic at Senoia Raceway
Ricky Weiss returned to the driver’s seat of his J&C Properties No. 7 Late Model on Friday afternoon for the two-day Peach State Classic at Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.).
Drawing 52 Late Models for the final event on the schedule for the Castrol FloRacing Night in America miniseries, Ricky fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fifth-place finish, relegating him into the B-Main. Grabbing the second-and-final transfer position, Weiss locked into the 24th-starting position for Friday’s prelim. With $20,000 on the line, Weiss marched through the field 14 spots in the 50-lapper to finish 10th.
On Saturday, Weiss laid down the second-fastest lap in his time trial group before placing first in his heat race. Earning the fourth-starting position for the $53,053-to-win Peach State Classic finale, Ricky lost three spots on a track that saw limited passing to finish seventh.
