Ricky Weiss takes on Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway
On Thursday afternoon, Ricky Weiss unloaded his No. 7 Sniper Chassis at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for the 29th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream.
With the massive 95-car field split into two groups, Weiss finished sixth in his heat race before landing a runner-up outing in his Last Chance Showdown to make the A-Main field. For the $12,000 preliminary feature, Ricky charged in the 25-lap feature and moved forward 11 positions to finish 13th.
For another round of prelims on Friday, Weiss transferred to his second preliminary feature of the weekend in his heat race and went on to place 20th in the 25-lap main event.
Starting sixth in his heat race on Saturday, Ricky faded to finish in 10th. Being buried in a Last Chance Showdown, Weiss was a scratch in his LCS and would not start in the $129,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream.
Wrapping up the extended weekend on Monday at Kokomo Speedway (Kokomo, Ind.) with the XR Super Series, Ricky was relegated to a B-Main and pulled off early but was granted a provisional starting spot for the feature. With $100,000 on the line, Weiss stormed passed 11 drivers on his way to a 14th-place finish.
