Weiss scores three podium finishes out at Central Arizona Raceway

Staying out West rather than heading to Florida, Ricky Weiss trekked to Central Arizona Raceway (Casa Grande, Ariz.) on Thursday afternoon for the first of six race nights at the track over the next two weeks.

With 35 Late Models stuffed in the pit area for the Ernie Mincy Early Thaw, Weiss slipped off the track in his heat race which resulted in a DNF and relegated him to a B-Main. After locking his spot in the feature with a fifth-place finish in his B-Main, Ricky stormed through the field to finish runner-up to Billy Moyer Sr.

For another $2,500-to-win show on Friday, Ricky had much better results in his heat race and earned a seventh-row starting spot for the A-Main. Picking off his competitors one by one, Wiess found himself with another second-place finish behind Billy Moyer Sr.

Rolling off 11th in Saturday's feature event, Weiss battled with the lead duo for much of the 35-lap feature before settling for a third-place outing. He trailed Tyler Peterson and Billy Moyer Sr. while Clayton Stuckey and Michael Leach filled out the Top-5.
