Ricky Weiss double dips in Crate Racin' USA competition at Tazewell and 411

Ricky Weiss visited Rogers-Dabbs Crate Racin’ USA Victory Lane twice over the weekend with his Drydene Performance Products No. 7 G-Style Transport / LG Transport / Derrick’s Sandblasting / Sniper Chassis Late Model.

Following a five-figure payday in Friday’s rescheduled Melvin Corum Memorial at Tazewell Speedway, Weiss added his sixth overall win of the season with a $10,000 victory in Saturday’s J.T. Kerr Memorial at 411 Motor Speedway to bring his weekend earnings to $20,000.

“What a hell of a weekend, just proud of my guys. We’ve been working so hard in the shop the last month .. hell, all year, really,” Weiss said. “The longer the races, the better we seem to be. (Hayden Cardwell) definitely made it interesting with a couple (laps) to go .. I don’t know, I think he didn’t expect me to try and go to the bottom and he just tried to muscle his way in there.”

Back behind the wheel of his No. 7W Crate Late Model, Ricky Weiss traveled back to Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway on Friday afternoon for the rescheduled Melvin Corum Memorial.

With 31 Crate Racin' USA entries on hand, Weiss started fifth in the 50-lap main event and quickly made his way into the runner-up position. Powering around race-long leader Luke Cooper, Ricky led the final 11 circuits to secure the $10,000 payday.

Looking for the same result on Saturday evening, Weiss followed Crate Racin' USA to 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) for the J.T. Kerr Memorial.

Finishing runner-up in his heat race, Weiss once again started the main event from the third row and quickly raced into the Top-3. With less than 10 laps to go, Ricky snuck around Hayden Cardwell and powered his way to another $10,000 victory. In his second victory of the weekend, Weiss outran Tyler Millwood and Dustin Linville to the checkered flag.

This coming weekend will see Ricky pull double duty at Volunteer Speedway for the Volunteer 50. The two-day event will kick off with prelims on Friday with $1,500 up for grabs for 604 Crates and a pair of $5,000-to-win preliminary features for Supers.

On Saturday, the Super Late Model finale boasts a $50,050 top prize with the 604 division offering a $8,050-to-win main event.
