Early race mayhem in Ray Varner Ford 53 at Tazewell Speedway

Tapping in for one night with the miniseries, Ricky Weiss checked into Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway on Saturday afternoon for the $20,053-to-win Southern Nationals season finale.

After finishing fourth in his heat race, Weiss started 12th in the 75-lap main event but was caught up in a major pileup on the opening lap. With too much damaged sustained, Ricky did not return to the track and recorded a 22nd-place finish.
